On January 10, Congress will hold confirmation hearings on Jeff Sessions, a racist, anti-choice extremist and sexual assault apologist, and Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general. His confirmation would be a disaster for reproductive freedom.
- He defended Trump during the campaign by arguing that grabbing a woman by her genitals is not sexual assault, saying, "I think that's a stretch."
- He voted to ban abortion after 20 weeks, voted to defund Planned Parenthood, and voted to imprison doctors who provide some abortion services. He even voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.
- He has a long, ugly history of racism: Colleagues testified that he used the N-word and called an African-American attorney "boy."
